Welcome to Pawtraits by Caitlin. By accessing and using our website or purchasing a product, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. About Us

Pawtraits by Caitlin is a small business based in the UK offering custom pet portraits and artwork.

2. Ordering and Commission Process

  • All artwork is custom made and hand-drawn based on the images you provide, the end result will be a direct result of the quality of these images.

  • Once a deposit has been placed for the portrait, it secures your spot on the waitlist. No artwork will begin until a deposit has been made.

  • You are responsible for ensuring that the photos and information you submit are accurate and high-quality.

  • We reserve the right to decline commissions if the photos are inappropriate, unclear, or violate copyright laws.

  • We reserve the right to use the portrait on social media, print and website - if you have given permission upon initially submitting an enquiry, email or social media messages.

3. Payment

  • Payments are processed securely via Stripe or cash (local only).

  • Prices are listed in GBP and include VAT (if applicable).

  • A deposit of 25% of the full portrait price is required upfront before work begins on your portrait. The final 75% is required before shipping the piece to you, it will not be shipped if this is not paid. 

4. Turnaround Time and Delivery

  • Estimated turnaround time will be communicated when you get in touch initially. Regular updates will be sent to you as the artwork progresses.

  • Delays may occur due to workload or circumstances beyond our control — we’ll keep you informed if this happens.

  • Physical artwork is shipped via Royal Mail or a similar courier service.

5. Refunds and Cancellations

  • Due to the custom nature of the artwork, refunds are not available once work has started.

  • If you need to cancel an order, please contact us within 24 hours of placing it. If you has already begun you will not be refunded.

  • If you’re unhappy with the final result, please contact us — we’ll do our best to address your concerns.

6. Intellectual Property

  • You retain the rights to any photos you submit, but by submitting them, you give us permission to use them for creating your portrait.

  • We retain the copyright to the finished artwork and may use it for promotional purposes (e.g. website, social media), unless you request otherwise in writing.

  • You may use the artwork for personal use only. Commercial reproduction or resale is not permitted without written permission, do not claim this work as your own.

7. User Content and Conduct

  • You agree not to upload or submit any material that is unlawful, offensive, or infringes on someone else’s rights.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service if any content submitted violates these terms.

8. Liability

  • We are not liable for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of our website or services, except where required by UK law.

  • We will not be held responsible for delays or delivery issues caused by third-party services (e.g. postal services or Stripe).

9. Privacy

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our website, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described there.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Any changes will be posted on our website with the updated effective date.
